This is a NACK webinar, hosted by MATEC NetWorks and was recorded 5/24/2012. When asked, the recording password is "networks".
Webinar Description: As we examine the societal aspects of nanotechnology, it is important to consider how our society views the risks, benefits, and public awareness of new technologies. As a society, we have seen many new things emerge. Things like plastics, the internet, and genetically engineered products become part of our day to day lives and affect how we do simple things. In this webinar, we examine how society considers the risks and benefits of such products and apply that thinking to the world of nanotechnology. This will enable us to engage students in thoughtful discussions of relevant issues ranging from environmental hazards and exposure to nanomaterials, while balancing the hazards and potential benefits of these innovations.
